The story presented in the Netflix series “You” was based on the bestselling novel of the same title. The first season followed bookstore employee Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley), who fell in love with a girl he had just met. He then used social media to learn intimate details about her life. The infatuation quickly turned into an obsession, and Joe consistently got rid of every obstacle – and person – that stood in his way of achieving his goal.
So far, four seasons of the series have been produced. Work is underway on the fifth, which will be the final one.
First season “Sherlock” aired in 2010. A production based on the work of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’and it turned out to be an international hit. Among others, it was thanks to it that the following people made great careers: those who played the title role Benedict Cumberbatch, as well as Martin Freeman (Dr. John Watson) and Andrew Scott (Jim Moriarty).
The series has had three more seasons, with the last one premiering in early 2017. “Sherlock” can be watched on three streaming platforms: Netflix, Max and Prime Video.
Netflix hit titled “Mindhunter“ was based on the book “Mindhunter: Secrets of the Elite FBI Unit” by Mark Olshaker and John E. Douglas. The main characters are FBI agents: the untamed and overzealous Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and the composed and decisive Bill Tench (Holt McCallany).
The action takes place in the 70s. The heroes establish cooperation with the biggest criminal “beasts” in the history of the United States, who are serving a sentence in prison for monstrous crimes. The goal of the agents is to psychoanalyze the perpetrators and develop methods of prosecution.
Miniseries “Sharp objects” tells the story of journalist Camille Preaker, who returns to her hometown to prepare a report on a local tragedy. While trying to solve the mystery, she revisits her past and seems to identify with the victims. Starring Amy Adamsher screen partners are: Patricia Clarkson, Chris Messina, Elizabeth Perkins.
The production is based on the book of the same title by Gillian Flynn. “Sharp Objects” is available on the Max platform.
“Big Little Lies” is a story about a seemingly perfect life in the American suburbs told through the eyes of women. The series is an adaptation of the bestselling novel of the same title. In a quiet, seaside town full of hidden conflicts and closely guarded secrets, a tragedy occurs, which triggers an avalanche of suspicions and speculation. There is a suspicion that it may have had something to do with the tensions that appeared between the mothers of children from the local school.
The main roles are played by Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and Shailene Woodley. Their partners are Alexander Skarsgård, Laura Dern, Zoë Kravitz, Adam Scott, James Tupper and Jeffrey Nordling. Two seasons have been produced and can be watched on Max.
