“The Boys” is a satire on the huge popularity of comic book superheroes and the multitude of productions that hit the film and TV market every month. It tells the story of world-saving superheroes whose private lives leave much to be desired. The titular The Boys, deprived of supernatural powers, try to fight their hypocrisy.
“The Boys” is based on the New York Times best-selling comic book by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, who also serve as executive producers. The adaptation was developed by executive producer and showrunner Eric Kripke. The cast included, among others: Antony Starr, Karl Urban, Jack Quaid and Erin Moriarty.
A spin-off of the production titled “Gen V” was created. Work is underway on another series from this universe – the Spanish-language “The Boys: Mexico”.
The fourth season of “The Boys” will debut on the Prime Video platform on June 13, 2024. First, the first three episodes will premiere, and each subsequent episode will appear from week to week. The final is scheduled for July 18.
