Suzanne Collins is working on the fifth book in the “Hunger Games” universe

According to the Associated Press, “Sunrise on the Reaping” will take place 40 years after the events presented in “Ballad of Birds and Snakes” and 24 years ago “The Hunger Games”.

Collins revealed that she was inspired to write the fifth part by David Hume's words about “the ease with which a few rule the masses.” The plot will also focus on the topic of propaganda and how people in power influence the main narrative. According to the writer, the question “Truth or lie?” It has never been more relevant.

Although the rights to adapt the novel have not yet been sold, it is safe to assume that this will happen in the near future. Previous “Hunger Games” films were produced by Lionsgate. The five adaptations have grossed a total of over $3.3 billion worldwide.

The star of the four films based on the Collins trilogy was Jennifer Lawrence. Rachel Zegler and Tom Blyth played the main roles in “The Ballad of Birds and Snakes”, which was a prequel to the original story.
