The action of the final season takes place in the fall of 1987. Hawkins is marked by the consequences of opening a passage between dimensions, and a group of heroes unite around one goal – to find and defeat Vecna. The problem is that he disappeared without a trace.
The government imposes a military quarantine, strengthens control over the city and begins a hunt for Eleven, forcing her into hiding. As the anniversary of Will Byers’ disappearance approaches, dark clouds are once again gathering over Hawkins – the upcoming clash will prove to be the most dangerous in history.
The creators of the series announce that the action of the final season will start at full speed.
“What distinguishes this season is the fact that it begins in chaos – our heroes lost at the end of the fourth season. We usually show their normal life, school and everyday life, and only then the supernatural element enters. Here the story rushes from the first minute,” says Ross Duffer, co-creator of the series.
As his brother Matt adds, the finale takes place in a completely different Hawkins: “There is no normality here anymore. The heroes’ movement is limited, there are cameras and control everywhere. Their everyday life is no longer ordinary – even when they are not fighting, they are still in a state of danger.”
The trailer announces an emotional and spectacular conclusion to the story – full of nostalgia and tribute to the culture of the 80s, which has become the hallmark of the series. It is a story about friendship, growing up and a farewell that is heartbreaking and yet inevitable.
