Billie Eilish is a famous American singer whose career started at a very young age. At just 18 years old, she has already won five awards Grammys (including Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Best New Artist). Year by year, she created new songs that achieved hit status one after the other – including: “Bad Guy”, “Everything I Wanted” Whether “Happier Than Ever”. She also had the honor of creating a song for a James Bond film, for which she received an award Oscar.
“Birds of a Feather” is one of Billie Eilish’s greatest hits
Some time ago, Billie Eilish added another great success to her extensive list of achievements – a song “Birds of a Feather”. The song was released in mid-2024 as a single promoting the singer’s third studio album. It quickly gained popularity around the world, received three Grammy nominations, and reached second place on the American charts Billboard Hot 100 and became the most played song on Spotify last year (with a score of over 1.75 billion streams).
In her latest interview, Billie Eilish admitted that the song might not have seen the light of day at all. Although today “Birds of a Feather” is one of the artist’s most important songs, when she wrote it, she decided that “it was too stupid to release it.”
The star doubted this song until the last moment! Now it is a worldwide hit
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, the American star mentioned that she had been working on the album for almost a year “Hit Me Hard and Soft” together with his brother Finneas. Most of the songs were coherent and formed a unified whole, and when “Birds of a Feather” appeared – much more joyful and hopeful than the singer’s typical dark pop – Billie wasn’t sure if fans would like the song.
“Several times I said, ‘We should throw this out.’ Even when I played the whole finished album on the label, I thought to myself, ‘Guys, this song is kind of stupid.'” – Eilish confessed in a new interview.
Ultimately, the song was not only included on the album, but even became the single announcing the release. Billie did not regret her decision, because it is currently one of the hits thanks to which an even larger (if possible) audience has heard about it.
