Zbigniew Wodecki had many albums to his credit, recorded in various styles and conventions.

He was not afraid of experiments, of putting himself to artistic tests, and he did not run away from untrodden paths that could guarantee success. He did not tolerate a commercial approach to music.

“Now everyone is recording hits and hits, and I'm crazy,” he admitted.

Many listeners know him as a long-haired virtuoso who plays the violin. However, he was not only a violinist, vocalist and instrumentalist, but also a composer and arranger. He described himself as a “singing musician”.

He came from a musical family from Łaziska in Silesia. His father founded an orchestra Polish Radio in Katowice, and later the Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra in Krakow, where he was the first trumpet player. Wodecki's mother she was a singer – a coloratura soprano.

Wodecki's work held a special place in the hearts of children. He was the voice of the theme song of the Polish version of the famous evening “Pszczółka Maja”. “Maja the bee has been carrying on her wings for so many years and the fourth generation probably already knows her,” he joked.

He performed songs for the series “Backpack Full of Adventures” and the fairy tale “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”. He lent his voice to the film “Disco Bugs”.

He didn't avoid television. He has episodic roles in titles such as “Jan z Tree”, “Klan”, “Miodowe lata” and “Świat dla Kiepskich”. He became famous as a juror of the popular program “Dancing with the Stars”. He was also the host of the music programs “Droga do Gwiazd” and “Your Path to the Stars”.

Zbigniew Wodecki died on May 22, 2017 in one of Warsaw hospitals. His wife and children were with him. The artist was buried in Kraków.

At the end of the second day of the Polsat Hit Festival, we will hear and see the concert “Męskie Granie – Wodecki Twist”. Natalia and Paulina Przybysz, Piotr Odoszewski, Wiktor Dyduła, Wiktor Waligóra and Dawid Tyszkowski will perform. This extraordinary event will be another and certainly not the last tribute to the work of Zbigniew Wodecki.
