On Tuesday, July 9, the media received information that Jerzy Stuhr is dead. The information about the death of the legendary artist was given to Onet by his son, Maciej. The actor, who also worked as a director and screenwriter, had suffered two heart attacks and in recent years had also been battling laryngeal cancer.

His outstanding filmography includes many unforgettable titles that became crucial for the development of Polish cinema: “Wodzirej” (1977), “Amator” (1979), “Seksmisja” (1984), “Kingsajz” (1987), “Kiler” (1997), “Szansa” (1980), “Persona non grata” (2005) and “Kajman” (2006).

As reported by PAP, Jerzy Stuhr will be buried at the Rakowicki Cemetery in Kraków. According to information from the Municipal Cemeteries Board in Krakow, The artist’s funeral will take place next Wednesday, July 17.

Maciej Stuhr published a post on social media. A short entry appeared on the Instagram of “young Stuhr”. A black and white photo of him, his son and his father, who died today, standing with their backs to the camera. Although there is an obvious difference in age and height – the male representatives of three generations of Stuhrs walk side by side, similarly intertwining their hands behind each other.

The actor commented on his father’s passing with one but very telling word:Gratitude“. Shortly after the post was published, hundreds of condolences and words of support for the entire family appeared.
