Tobias Menzies in an interview with TV Line (which we could recently see, among others, in Netflix “The Crown” and “Made in Oslo”) revealed whether his hero, or rather the heroes, will appear in the final season of “Outlander”. As we know, the actor played two characters – Frank Randall, Claire’s husband, and his ancestor Black Jack. Unfortunately, even though the character of Black Jack appears for a moment on the pages of the eighth volume of Diana Gabaldon’s series entitled “Written in My Own Blood”.
“It would be nice,” Menzies said when asked about participating in the eighth season. “But you won’t see me,” he added.
As Sam Heughan once said, the end of the series will be worth waiting for. “I want to end this story not for myself, but for the fans. It wouldn’t be satisfying if we just ended the series and left everything up in the air.”
It is not known whether the final season will include Gabaldon’s ideas (the series will end earlier than the novel series) or whether the scriptwriters will go their own way. Heughan revealed that he is trying to push through the idea of a different ending, but he does not suspect that he will succeed.
“Whatever the writers come up with, we’ll see. I don’t think the ending will be satisfying for everyone, but I hope we’ll get to a place where our story will be told. It won’t be the whole book, but our story will be a certain finale.” .
The 7th season consists of sixteen instead of eight episodes “Outlander” debuted in 2023. In Poland the first eight episodes are available on Netflix. We don’t know the release date of the second part yet, but it is scheduled for this year. Filming for the final series is scheduled to end in October 2024.
