Książ Castle in an Oscar-winning production! Will he win the award?

Even though none of the Polish productions were nominated for the Oscars, it is worth watching this year’s awards gala carefully, if only because of the unique location that appeared in one of the films.

The Polish castle appeared in a British-Polish-American production titled “Zone of interests” directed by Jonathan Glazer. The film was nominated in several categories, and some scenes were recorded at Książ Castle in Wałbrzych.

The film tells the story of the camp commandant, Rudolf Höss, and his wife Hedwig, who are trying to arrange a family life in a house with a garden, which is located right next to the place where millions of people were killed.

However, this is not the first time that a beautiful Polish castle has appeared in famous productions. Scenes for, among others, “Mr. Kleks’ Academy” (director: Krzysztof Gradowski), “Leper” (dir. Jerzy Hoffman), or “Dark, almost night” (dir. Borys Lankosz).
