Easter symbols straight from the map of Poland. It's worth getting to know these places

In the village of Easter in Lesser Poland, the festive atmosphere persists throughout the year. The town located in the Gołcza commune, Miechów County, is unique not only because of its name. Rich history and interesting attractions make it a place worth visiting, especially for those who value peace and a family atmosphere.

The documented history of Easter in Lesser Poland dates back to 1389. There was a Lutheran congregation here, as well as the place where Maurycy Beniowski, a participant of the Bar Confederation, got married before his extraordinary journey to Madagascar. In the 16th century, Easter was an important center of the Reformation.

Although Easter does not boast many monuments, its inhabitants proudly talk about the history of the village. It's the perfect place to spend time in peace and quiet, learning about local traditions. The biggest attraction is the famous copy of the Tomb of Jesus, which attracts attention especially during Easter.

Another interesting fact is the “happy spring” with healing properties, shrouded in local legends. Locals believe that the water from this spring can bring prosperity and health.

The village has undergone many changes over the centuries, yet retaining its unique heritage. Today, although there are few monuments left here, the memory of the past is alive among the inhabitants.

By visiting this place, you can not only take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, but also feel the unique atmosphere that prevails here all year round.

Among the numerous places of religious worship in Poland, Golgotha in Licheń Stary stands out for its unique form and deep message. This monumental work, rising to a height of 25 meters, attracts attention not only with its structure, but also with its spiritual meaning. Golgotha, a stone mountain with a labyrinth of passages, is a place that attracts crowds of pilgrims every year.

Begun in 1974 and completed approximately ten years later, the construction of Golgotha was the initiative of Fr. Eugeniusz Makulski. It was created as an expression of penance and atonement for sins, including the existence of a German school for boys from the Hitler Youth at the church of St. Dorota, as well as for removing crosses from schools and hospitals. Golgotha in Licheń serves not only as a reminder of the past, but also as a place of reflection on one's own life.

While walking along Golgotha, pilgrims pass the Stations of the Cross, grottoes and chapels. At the top of the hill there is a cross with figures of Mary and Saint. Jana, from where there is a picturesque view of the Basilica of Our Lady of Licheń, church towers and the surrounding lakes. This stone mountain is therefore not only a destination for religious pilgrimages, but also a human sacrifice to the Lord Jesus and Our Lady for the care of the Polish nation.
