In the 1980s, the men from Modern Talking were considered style icons – the long hair of both musicians, tight pants, cotton jackets and skimpy T-shirts created a perfect effect. Bohlen almost always appeared in a tracksuit advertising a famous clothing company. He had a disarming smile and played the guitar with commitment.

In 1987, the group suspended its activities for 11 years. Both men started their solo careers. Dieter set up a makeshift studio at home, where he could develop as a producer and also take care of the band he founded while Modern Talking. Blue System.

In 1998, the cult band was reactivated. Times were different, so there were serious changes in the band itself. The band moved away from colorful clothes and opted for black pants, shirts and leather coats. The group’s music has also evolved. The late 1990s saw the dominance of eurodance. So Modern Talking had to adapt.

After another six albums, the gentlemen broke up again in 2003, this time permanently. The reason was misunderstandings and difficulties in communicating. When in 2003 Bohlen went on tour with the finalists of the talent show of which he was a juror, Anders performed on stages in America with the Modern Talking repertoire. Bohlen, of course, began to demand the benefits of performing under the band’s banner, which caused misunderstandings. On June 21, 2003, the group played a farewell concert in Berlin.

After the final disbandment of Modern Talking, Dieter Bohlen took up composing and producing songs. He also sat on the jury of the popular talent show – the German edition of “Got Talent”. In 2006, RTL television decided to broadcast a cartoon based on Dieter’s biography titled “Dieter – Der Film”.
