Deadpool & Wolverine: A Hit This Summer? This Is How Much It Could Earn Upon Opening

If those predictions come true, “Deadpool & Wolverine” would be the highest-grossing release of 2024. It would also be the best opening for an R-rated film in cinema history. The current record is held by the first “Deadpool” from 2016, which earned $133.7 million in its opening weekend.

Not everyone agrees with this, however. Quorum has suggested that the film could earn over $200 million in its first weekend.

“Deadpool & Wolverine” has already hit a 2024 ticket presale record. AMC Theatres announced that 200,000 people have purchased tickets for the film’s premiere.

For Marvel Studios, this would be a long-awaited success after financial failures “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania” and “Marvels”.

Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) is entangled in an interdimensional intrigue. On the orders of the TVA agency (known from the series “Loki”), which maintains order in the multiverse, he sets off on a journey through alternate realities. On his way, he will encounter many heroes from previous Marvel film adaptations, including Wolverine (Hugh Jackman). The two will form an uneasy alliance in order to save their worlds.

Marvel Studios hasn’t had a great run of late. Deadpool & Wolverine looks set to be the studio’s return to the spotlight. It will be its first R-rated film — meaning that in the United States, anyone under the age of 17 will only be allowed into a theater with an adult guardian. It will also see Hugh Jackman return to the role of Wolverine after a seven-year hiatus.

“Deadpool & Wolverine” will hit theaters on July 26, 2024.
