In a statement released to the media by his wife Ilene Graffit was reported that the composer died after a long-term battle with lung cancer.
Ben Lanzarone was an American composer and director. In the 1970s and 1980s, he created music for cult series such as: “The Love Ship”, “Dynasty”, “Happy Days” and “Lavern And Shirley”.
In 1986 from American Society of Composers, Authors and Creators received an award for the most frequently played musical themes on television.
Lanzarone and his crew worked on the recording of the song “Summer Nights”, which was included in the musical “Grease”. He also met his wife on the set of the film – Ilene Graff – with whom he lived together for 45 years.
In the following years, Graff and Lanzarone worked together on the series “Mr. Belvedere.”
