Olivia Colman: If I were a man, I'd earn more

“Male performers earn more because it is assumed that they attract the audience,” said the Oscar winner for “The Favorite”. “It's been known for decades that this isn't the case, but (producers) still like to pull it off so they don't pay women as much as their male co-stars.”

Host Christine Amanpour asked if Colman She recently had to argue about pay, even though she is a recognized and award-winning actress. “I am aware that if my name was Oliver Colman, I would earn (…) more. I know of one case where the difference in pay was as much as 12,000 percent,” said the star of “The Night Manager.”

Colman is another actress who has recently tackled the issue of the pay gap. She did this before Taraji P. Henson. Nominated for an Oscar for her supporting role in “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” the actress did it during promotions “The Color Purple”his last film.

“I'm tired of working hard (…) and receiving a fraction of the budget for it,” Henson said in December 2023. “I'm tired of hearing the same thing from my sisters over and over again.
