Your iPhone may have a better battery. You just need to take care of it

Taking care of electronic equipment is crucial if we want it to serve us as long as possible. It’s not enough to take your smartphone out of the box and forget about its well-being – how we use it affects the quality of our use and its future. We often complain about the battery after a year or two with a given phone, so today we will check how to properly take care of it.

iPhone, like other smartphones, requires proper charging. Apple’s implementation of USB-C ports means that they can be charged with various chargers, not necessarily the original ones. Should they? Not necessarily – it is worth using a dedicated charger, or at least a good quality equivalent, to charge your iPhone. Using a cheap replacement may cause our battery to heat up or even fail. However, this is not all we should remember.

If our iPhone has a weak battery, we can use several tools that will extend its operating time. Nobody wants to be attached to a charger all the time – after all, a phone is a mobile device. What should you do to make your phone battery last longer?

Firstly, . This will allow you to accurately control the battery charge level in your phone. We will also be able to more easily pay attention to how quickly it is depleting. This is the first step to help us monitor the operation of our device better and more vigilantly. The option can be found in the settings tab.

The second step is . This option can be found right below the charge indicator switch. Less consumption, of course, means longer battery life. In this way, we will relieve the components of our phone. This mode is especially useful when traveling or when we use the phone less often. It will allow us to gain up to several percent throughout the day.

Another tool in the fight for longer iPhone battery life is . The displays on Apple phones present great colors and look impressive, but they consume a lot of energy. If we want to save it, it is worth dimming our screen. First of all, let’s turn off automatic adjustment of the brightness level. Then let’s set it manually – not to the maximum. The screen may not look as great as before, but our battery will thank us for it.

And speaking of the screen, it’s worth turning on faster . This is especially useful when we put the phone away without locking it. Changing the option to e.g. 30 seconds will result in our phone locking up and the screen turning off after such a period of inactivity.

They also consume a lot of the energy from our iPhone’s battery. It is worth checking what permissions they have, especially those running in the background. Location services have a big impact on the battery. We should check which programs want access to our location. If we think they are not useful, it is worth turning off this option. The same applies to notifications, the regular sending of which drains our battery.

Let’s also remember to charge our iPhone properly. Modern phones can withstand better than draining the battery to zero and charging it to 100% once. Let’s remember this especially when we have access to a charger. It is worth connecting the phone for e.g. 15 minutes to give its battery a boost of energy.
