“Yellowstone”: Will Kevin Costner return in the final episodes of the series?

In an interview with “Entertainment Tonight” the star “Yellowstone” admitted that he was counting on seven seasons of the series. “Now we're on five… We'll see if it works – I hope so – but there are so many series being worked on right now. (…) Maybe it will come back to me. If it were so and I felt comfortable with it “I would love to come back,” he said Costner.

The actor was fired from the series due to creative differences with Taylor Sheridan, the creator and writer of “Yellowstone.” Costner wanted to influence his character's story. Sheridan was against it.

“My character (John Duntton) has to be active in current events, and I had this fantasy of what that might look like,” he continued. “However, this is Taylor's plot. (…) I had my vision, but we'll see how it turns out.”

“Yellowstone” is a modern western that tells the story of a wealthy farmer, John Dutton, owner of the titular ranch. Together with his children, he fights for his legacy to survive unchanged. There is no shortage of people willing to take over his land.

So far, four seasons of the production and half of the fifth, final season have been released. The last episodes were supposed to debut in November 2023. However, their implementation was delayed due to strikes by scriptwriters and actors. There is no set release date for the Yellowstone finale at this time.
