“Women don’t cry anymore.” Shakira reveals details of new album “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran”

Since the album “El Dorado” from 2017 Shakira she released new singles from time to time. The premiere songs managed to achieve hit status “Te Felicito” (With Rauw Alejandro), “Monotony” (With Ozuna), “Acrostico” and “Copa Vacia” (With Manuel Turizo).

However, what was most talked about was the song “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53” (check!) recorded from Bizarapp. This is a diss track recorded by the Colombian star against her former partner, a football player Gerard Pique. The former FC Barcelona defender cheated on Shakira, now 47, with a much younger woman, a 23-year-old student and hostess Clara Chia Martiworking in his production company.

The revenge song, as it is now known, painted a picture of the past relationship and confirmed the rumors about Pique’s betrayal. Subsequent singles only strengthened Shakira’s position not only on the Latin scene, but also on the international scene. That’s why she closed 2023 with 14 broken Guinness records, the title of Woman of the Year awarded to her by Billboard magazine, and an award for lifetime artistic work, which she received during the September gala. MTV Video Music Awards.

Shakira faced her private problems in songs. The title of the whole “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” is telling, as it directly refers to the line from the mentioned single: “las mujeres ya no lloran, las mujeres facturan”, which loosely translates to: “women don’t cry anymore, women earn money”. You can expect that the album will contain many personal lyrics, uncomfortable for those she left behind in Barcelona. What is certain, however, is that the album was composed to comfort women’s hearts, as the artist herself suggested in the post on Instagram announcing the music release.

“I didn’t create my new album, which will be released on March 22, by myself. I created it with all of you, my pack that accompanies me at every step. Its production was an almost alchemical process. While writing each song, I rebuilt myself. When I sang them, my tears turned into into diamonds and my sensitivity into strength,” Shakira confessed.

It is known that the album will contain 17 songs. The singer has so far revealed seven titles – it is known that the album will include already known songs “Te Felicito” (With Rauw Alejandro), “Monotony” (With Ozuna), “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53”, “TQG” (With Karol G), “Acrostico”, “Copa Vacia” (With Manuel Turizo) i “El Jefe” (with a band representing Mexican music Fuerza Regida).
