“White Courage”: Filip Pławiak had to defend the film. Kuba Wojewódzki’s sharp attack

Kuba Wojewódzki directly admitted that “White Courage” this is the first movie with Filip Pławiakwhich did not move him in any way.

“This film doesn’t deliver. I don’t know what it’s about. For me, it lacks a clear plot. I don’t know if it’s the Podhale version of ‘Romeo and Juliet’ or if it’s a war morality play. (…) This is the first a movie with you that I didn’t experience. I had the impression that you were more interested in climbing than in the plot,” the showman argued in the “WojewódzkiKędzierski” podcast.

When there was suddenly silence after these words, the former “Idol” juror reflected a bit. “I’m sorry if it’s too harsh,” he said.

Pławiak tried to defend the film Marcin Koszałka. “I don’t know what to tell you. (…) I can contrast it with what I felt while watching this film. For me, it brings a lot of emotions. It allows me to experience a lot and does not leave the viewer in peace after leaving the cinema. “Maybe it’s because you had certain expectations for this film,” he explained.

Wojewódzki admitted that “for him this film is predictable”, and then, when asked by Pławiak whether “White Courage” was a good film in his opinion, he assured: “In the range of films I have seen, it is not a good film.”

“Before the premiere of the film and after all the hype that appeared after the premiere, I thought to myself that if someone tells me that it is not a good movie, I will think that they are crazy. That’s why I’m talking about it, because I can’t understand certain things that are happening in the cinematography in Poland. We do not evaluate different films on the same scale,” concluded the actor.

Let us remind you that Marcin Koszałka’s new production touches on the previously unsaid topic of collaboration between some of the Podhale highlanders with the Germans during World War II. However, “White Courage” is not only about the Goralenvolk – the historical thread is intertwined with the melodramatic thread, showing how life decisions influence the course of history. Apart from Pławiak, the main characters of this gripping story will be brilliantly played by: Julian Świeżewski, Sandra Drzymalska and Jakub Gierszał.

The action of “White Courage” takes place in the late 1930s in Podhale. A talented mountaineer, a descendant of an outstanding highlander family, Jędrek Zawrat likes life on the edge. When he climbs, he chooses the most difficult paths, when he loves, he is ready to sacrifice everything. His chosen one is the beautiful Bronka. However, as a result of a family decision, the girl’s hand is given to the older of the Zawrat brothers, the sedate and serious Maciek. Proud Jędrek leaves his hometown to seek oblivion among the Krakow bohemia. On his way, he meets a German scientist and mountaineer Wolfram, who propounds a theory that the Highlanders come from the ancient Germanic tribe of the Pragoths. When war breaks out, the Germans offer cooperation to the inhabitants of Podhale. Maciej Zawrat, supported by many prominent families, strongly rejects this proposal. However, convinced by Wolfram, Jędrek, hoping to regain his beloved and save his community from the destruction of war, cooperates. Jędrek and Maciej, entangled in history, forced to make the most difficult choices, loving the same woman, will stand on opposite sides of a dispute that will decide not only their personal fate, but the future of the entire region.
