Team Emigres was created in 1990. Formation for the song “On the breakwater” (check!) was founded by musicians with considerable achievements on the Polish scene: a guitarist Edmund Stasiak (before Lady Pank and Papa Dance), bassist Robert Jaszewski (including Martyna Jakubowicz, Grzegorz Markowski, Closed Branch, Lady Pank) and the drummer who died in 2022 Piotr Szkudelski (Perfect). A singer appeared at their side Paweł Kukiz (including Breasts, Aya RL and Hak).
When it turned out that the song was a great success (it is still played on radio stations today), the group decided to continue its activities. In the 1990s, the band released two albums: “Russia and America” (1992) and “I am talking to you” (1995), on which he was the vocalist Marek Hojda. After a break of several years, the band returned Rafał Brzozowski as a vocalist. That’s when the album came out “…And other songs” (2006) promoted, among others, by a new version of the song “On the breakwater”.
Now the song has hit the Internet “On the breakwater 2k24” (check!), which is a combination of three musical generations. Music producer with a pseudonym Moka (Łukasz Sienicki) and a vocalist Arek Braxton decided to create a new, modern version of the old hit, giving the song a dance atmosphere (deep house/slap house).
To produce the recording, the musicians invited the co-author of the original, Edmund Stasiak, who played guitar parts in his own, recognizable style from years ago.
