Steven Spielberg, Christopher Nolan and Guillermo del Toro, among others, expressed their appreciation. The sequel seemed to be a matter of time.

The title of the sequel was revealed during Godzilla Fest 2025, which took place in Tokyo. It sounds like “Godzilla Minus Zero”. The production’s logo, designed by director Tahaski Yamazaki, was also shown. He will be behind the camera again. He will also be responsible for the script and will head the special effects department.

We don’t know the details of the film’s plot. It is expected to be based on the first installment of the series from 1954, directed by Ishirô Honda. No release date has been announced either. Journalists assume that it may take place in the second half of 2026.
