“The Three-Body Problem”: The creators played a prank on the series star. “They were making mischief”

“The Three-Body Problem” is the latest series hit on Netflix. Based on the first part of the trilogy by Liu Cixin, which is compared by literary critics, among others: for “The Chronicles of Dune” by Frank Herbert, debuted on the platform on March 21. The combination of many intriguing plot ideas and an international cast certainly contributed to the series' success. One of the main roles was played by John Bradley, whom you certainly remember from “Game of Thrones”, where he played the role of Samwell Tarly.

On the set of this science fiction series, Bradley again met the creators of one of HBO's most popular series. David Benioff and DB Weiss also invited two other actors from “Game of Thrones” – Liam Cunningham and Jonathan Pryce. You can see that all the men work great together.

Such good cooperation may be influenced by the fact that that both Benioff and Weiss like to joke around with their cast members sometimes. Some of their jokes on the set of the HBO production became history. No wonder they couldn't help but laugh at Bradley a little.

In an interview with Marta Wawrzyn from Serialowa, John Bradley told a story about the prank the creators played on him. And it was about… sports teams. Bradley is a big fan of Manchester United, and his TV counterpart, Jack Rooney, is a fan of Manchester City.

I had a lot of fun playing this role, but that doesn't mean they didn't get into mischief sometimes. Because I'm a Manchester United fan, a big Manchester United fan – I have been all my life. That's why making Jacek a Man City fan seemed very cruel and really unfair,” the actor tells Serialowa.

Bradley noted that his hero is so rich that he can literally buy any gadget with the colors of his favorite club.

That's why staying in my hero's dream house was torture for me, because I was surrounded by all these things that almost made me feel sick.” – Wawrzyn Bradley told Marta.

“The Three-Body Problem” is available on Netflix from March 21, 2024.
