“Red poppies” is the first Polish feature film about the famous and victorious Battle of Monte Cassino. Once again Krzysztof Łukaszewicz (“Eagles: Grodno ’39”, “Karbala”, “General Nil”) refers to the most important and dramatic pages of our history.
We see the history of the battle through the eyes of Jędrek – a young boy who went through hell and left Russia with Anders’ Army as one of thousands of orphans. The time of captivity changed him from a boy from a good family into a schemer and a petty thief who will do anything to survive. However, contact with the soldiers of the II Corps and the awakening love for the nurse Pola will cause Jędrek to undergo a profound transformation. Soon, there will be a decisive attack on the front against the monastery defended by German troops, located on the Monte Cassino hills – this spectacular battle will decide the lives of many soldiers and the further attack of the Allied army in Italy, and will change Jędrek’s life forever.
Apart from Jędrek (Nicolas Adventure) and Pola (Magdalena Zak) the heroes of the film are also a war correspondent (Leszek Lichota), who becomes a mentor to the rebellious teenager, and Jędrek’s brother Stanisław (Szymon Piotr Warszawski). Spectacular “Stuntman” With Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt Starring is a film based on the themes of the television series of the same title. It tells the story of Colt, who goes in search of a missing movie star (played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson), of which he was once an understudy. Blunt plays the role of director and ex-girlfriend of the titular stuntman, Jody Moreno.
The series on which the “Stuntman” script was based was broadcast on ABC in 1981-86. It starred Lee Majors and Heather Thomas. The former will also appear in the film.
“I’m a former stuntman, so this movie is very close to me,” he said David Leitch. The director confessed that it was a real pleasure for him to make a film that shows the life of stunt professionals. He emphasized that they risk their lives, but the average viewer has no idea about their role and how important they are to film productions.
“Planet of the Apes” is one of 20th Century Studios’ most popular franchises, grossing over $1.7 billion worldwide. The first film in the series from 1968, based on the novel by Pierre Boulle, became one of the biggest hits of the year, winning a special award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The film spawned numerous sequels, including four cinematic sequels and two television series.
In 2001, a remake “Planet of the Apes” was directed by Tim Burton. The series was then resumed in 2011 with “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” and its two sequels: “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” from 2014 and “Wars for the Planet of the Apes” from 2017.
“Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” is supposed to take place 300 years after the events we saw in the last film. The world no longer belongs to people. Now they are prey hunted by the little one. Power is held by the evil king Proximus, who only cares about unlimited power. One of the descendants of Caesar, known from the previous parts, tries to change everything. The key to this is a young girl. The director of the movie is Wes Ball, who has already produced one film series – “The Maze Runner”. They played the main roles in the new production Freya Allan, Owen Teague and Kevin Durand.
Winner of the Palme d’Or in 2018 “Thieves” Hirokazu Koreedawho made his previous two films “Baby Broker” and “True” made in South Korea and France, with “Monster” returned to Japan.
In his new work, he takes viewers to a town where one of the blocks is on fire. How did the fire start? Who could be responsible for setting the building on fire? This remains unknown for now. The firefighters’ action is observed from the balcony by Saori (Sakura Ando) and her son Minato (Soya Kurokawa). After her husband’s death, a woman raises a teenager alone. This one is becoming more and more mysterious. The rebellion of a boy entering puberty, or perhaps the pain associated with the loss of his father? Saori fears there is something else behind it.
Finally, the woman discovers that her son was a victim of violence from the teacher – Mr. Hori (Eita Nagayama). Enraged, she storms into the school, demanding explanations and removing the teacher from working with children. However, all he receives from the principal are a cliched apology and an assurance that it was an accidental hit and it will not happen again. In turn, the teacher suggests that Minato was aggressive towards another child. So maybe the teenager is a monster, the teacher – a victim of baseless accusations from an overprotective mother, and Saori missed some signals? Before Koreeda fully reveals the message of the story, he repeatedly gives the audience surprising clues, showing three different points of view – the mother, the teacher and the boy.
“Furiosa: The Mad Max Saga” is the long-awaited return to the iconic dystopian world created by George Miller over 30 years ago in the “Mad Max” films. The new installment of the series is an original and stand-alone adventure, showing the beginnings of the fearless character played by Charlize Theron in the film “Mad Max: Fury Road”.
When the world falls, young Furiosa is kidnapped from the Green Place of Many Mothers. He falls into the hands of the powerful Biker Horde, led by the warlord Dementus. After crossing the Wasteland, the kidnappers reach the Citadel, where Eternal Joe rules. Two tyrants begin to fight for power, and Furiosa must survive many trials while collecting funds that will allow her to return home – reads the official description of the film.
The production of “Furiosa: The Mad Max Saga” has been delayed due to legal disputes. Miller considered having Theron reprise the role of Furiosa, but this would require her digital rejuvenation, which discouraged the director. He is of the opinion that until technology allows for a fully reliable reconstruction of the human face, there is no point in using it. “For a long time I thought that we would be able to take a computer-based rejuvenation technique and apply it to Charlize. However, I don’t think we are close to a fully believable effect of such a transformation. Despite the brave attempts in ‘The Irishman’, this is completely uncharted territory. Everyone is “We are close to solving the problems related to this, especially the Japanese. However, I believe that we still have a long way to go,” Miller said. Ultimately, she got the main role Anya Taylor-Joy. He will be her partner in the film Chris Hemsworth.
