He has just joined the cast of the series Jeffrey Wright (“Westworld”). The actor was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe this year for his role in the film “American Fiction” (2023). In the upcoming second season of “The Last of Us” he is to play the role of Isaac. Interestingly and significantly , the actor also played this character in the game “The Last Us Part II”.
Isaac is described as “the quiet, powerful leader of a large militia group that sought freedombut instead found itself immersed in an endless war against a surprisingly resourceful enemy.”
“The Last of Us” is a film adaptation a post-apocalyptic game from 2013, which presents the story twenty years after the collapse of modern civilization as a result of a fungal epidemic.
They played the main characters in the HBO production Pedro Pascal (Joel) and Bella Ramsey (Ellie). In the new season, apart from Wright, he will also join the cast Kaitlyn Dever (“Unbelievable”), who will play Abby.
“The Last of Us” series was written and produced by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. They both also took on the role of directors and will do so again in the second season, which we can expect to premiere in 2025 at the earliest.
