The first two episodes of “The Acolyte” will debut on the Disney+ streaming platform on June 5, 2024.
The series will begin one hundred years before the events of “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.” It will tell the story of a former Padawan who, together with her former master, tries to solve the mystery of mysterious crimes. It turns out that there are sinister forces behind them.
They played the main roles Amandla Stenberg (“The Hate U Give”, “Bodies, Bodies, Bodies”) and Lee Jung-jae (“Squid Game”). We will also see Manny Jacinto on the screen (“Good place”), Dafne Keen (“Logan: Wolverine”) and Carrie-Anne Moss (“The Matrix”). Joonas Suotamo, who played Chewbacca in the recent films, will play the Wookie Jedi Master. The showrunner of the production is Leslye Headland, co-creator of Netflix’s “Russian Doll”.
Filming for “The Acolyte” began in October 2022 and ended in June 2023. The series will consist of 8 episodes.
