Stanisław Mikulski was silent for years. Hans Kloss’s last secret

Stanisław Mikulski For many he was the face of the PRL pop culture. The role of agent Hans Kloss She gave him immortality in the eyes of viewers, but also trapped in one image. Although he seemed to be a favorite of fate, in fact his life was marked by a series of personal dramas, which he told only at the end of his life.

When in 1965 Mikulski appeared on the set “Rates greater than life“, he did not think that this role would make him a legend. A handsome agent J-23 quickly became an idol of millions of viewers. In Hungary, a crowd of 100,000 fans appeared only to see him live. In Mongolia he even received a rug with his own image.

This huge popularity, however, had its price. The actor mentioned years later that he had no moment of peace. “I went out into the street – a fugitive. I was going on vacation – a fugitive” – he said. Popularity began to overwhelm him, and Kloss’s label limited his professional possibilities.

Mikulski stood three times on a wedding rug. The first wife was the singer Wanda, with whom he had a son Piotr. Their marriage ended in divorce after 12 years, mainly because of his absence and life on the road. “I don’t know if it was Wanda’s fault or mine. That’s how our fate went,” he admitted honestly in the autobiography.

He met his second wife on the set of the series, which made him a star. Jadwiga Rutkiewicz, a costumeologist, took over his heart. Their relationship seemed to be a quiet marina. Unfortunately, fate has prepared them a drama with which few would be able to reconcile.

In 1972, the first child of Mikulski and Jadwiga was born. In the autobiography, he revealed that in his youth he struggled with great personal suffering associated with the loss of children, which he was silent for decades. Mikulski did not speak publicly for these events for four decades.

In the mid -1970s, his wife was diagnosed with a malignant grain. “The disease was progressing. She was waiting for me. I knew I was losing her piece by piece” – he wrote with the excruciating honesty. After his wife’s departure, the actor for a long time remained withdrawn from public life, struggling with painful memories.

It wasn’t until three years later, in Moscow, where he worked as the director of the Polish Information and Culture Center, he met Małgorzata Błoch-Wiśniewska. The music teacher, 23 years younger, raised her daughter Kasia alone. “It was an award for everything that happened to me in my life,” he said about this relationship.

Their relationship restored his joy of life. After returning to Warsaw, they created a warm house, and Mikulski again learned to rest, laugh and enjoy ordinary. His new stage of life was much less talked – and as he wanted, he kept his privacy this time.

In 2013, the media reported for the first time about the actor’s health problems. He dismissed meetings promoting his autobiography and was hospitalized because of back pain. “It’s the sins of youth. I built four cottages myself, so it hurts me from work ” – he joked at the time.

However, the truth was different. Mikulski suffered from cancer, but only the immediate family knew about it. He left November 27, 2014, calmly, in a dream, surrounded by loved ones. “He died very dignified” – recalled his friend and co -author of the book, Krzysztof Genczlewski.

The funeral ceremony took place on December 5 at Powązki Military. Among the people saying goodbye to him were son Piotr, grandchildren, friends from the film and theater industry – including Emil Karewicz and Teresa Lipowska. The urn with the ashes of the actor was buried only a few steps from the grave of his beloved Jadwiga.
