Chris Hemsworth for the first time played the god of lightning in 2011 in the film “Thor”. Later, he appeared many times in the films about Avengers as one of the members of the team and was continuing his individual films. Hemsworth’s adventure with Marvel Cinematic Universe has been going on for almost 15 years, and the nearest project in which he will participate is entitled “Avengers: Doomsday”. The actor has recently published a moving entry in which he thanks fans for his presence and describes Thor’s playing as the greatest honor. Fans guess that the upcoming film from the universe can be the last in which we will see Asgardczyk.
“Thor’s playing was one of the biggest honors in my life. For the last 15 years I kept Mjolner and then Stormbreaker, but what has done it really unique … It is to share it with all of you” – wrote Hemsworth under the movie on YouTube summarizing some of the best moments of God Grom. “Your passion, your shouts and your love for this character meant everything to me. Thank you for making my journey through Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Unfortunately, to answer whether Thor will actually die in “Avengers: Doomsday” we will have to wait a long time. The premieres of the two planned MCU films were shifted in time.
“Avengers: Doomsday” is currently scheduled for December 18, 2026, and “Avengers: Secret Wars” is expected to premiere a year later – December 17, 2027.
The cast of the first film revealed so far will include 27 actors from previous adaptations of Marvel comics, including Patrick Stewart (Professor Charles Xavier), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Channing Tatum (Gambit), Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), Vanessa Kirby, Vanessa Kirby (Invisible Woman), Anthony Mackie (Captain America), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) and Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom.
