On February 20, the movie “Simona Kossak” debuted at Netfliks after the cinema distribution. The production of Adrian Panek is Biography of the famous researcher of the Białowieża Forest and ecologia, which was played by talented Sandra Drzymalska – known among others from “EO” Jerzy Skolimowski, “Najmro” by Mateusz Rakowicz, and recently from Marcin Koszałka’s “white courage”.
“‘Simon Kossak’ is a story for me about the heroine who escapes from home, is looking for her new place and finds it. And at the same time it is a place that we once abandoned. Return to ourselves and nature,” says director and screenwriter Adrian Panek.
His film is the story of a girl who wants to free himself from the patriarchy’s oxows, and at the same time free the expectations of the family belonging to the cultural elite of Krakow. He goes to Białowieża to become a “real scientist” in the heart of wild nature. And like an American Anne Labastille, she sets new trails in the meaning of nature and intercourse with her. Eccentric character, apartment in the company of wild animals and Uncompromising in the fight for the forest They bring her publicity, but also many enemies.
Sandra Drzymalska’s deserted in Panek’s film appeared many famous stars of Polish cinema. We can see on the screen Jakub Gierszała, Marianna Zydek, Agata Kulesza, Marta Stalierska, Borys Szyc, Olga Bołądź and Dariusz Chojnacki.
The film premiered at the 24th International Film Festival MBank Nowe Horizons in July 2024. Later it was displayed at the 49th Polish Film Festival, where he collected many positive reviews.
