The editors of the “Variety” website are almost sure that Ryan Gosling is already preparing for his performance at the 96th Academy Awards. He is to present the song on stage “I’m Just Ken” written for him by Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt.
Let us recall that earlier the actor had a positive attitude towards the performance, but he was afraid that he would look quite poor among other real singers. “I haven’t been asked to do it yet. Maybe it’s too big a risk for me to sing it? I don’t know if it would work. But I’m open to the idea,” he said. Apparently, such an offer was offered to him, although the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has not yet officially confirmed this information.
Co-creator Mark Ronson dreamed of Gosling performing the song live. In an interview he said that he couldn’t imagine it being sung by anyone else. Moreover, in the tradition of the Oscars, when a song is nominated, its original performer performs on stage. “I think if Ryan doesn’t sing it, no one else will sing it,” Ronson said.
A total of five songs are nominated, including two from “Barbie”. Experts are divided, but some believe that “I’m Just Ken” has the best chance of winning. We’ll find out what it really will be like on March 10, because that’s when the Oscars will take place. It will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
Let us remind you that a soundtrack was created especially for the production, including a song performed by the actor Slash (Guns N’ Roses). In addition, the album includes songs by such stars as: Dua Lupa, Billie Eilish, Sam Smith, Tame Impala, PinkPantheress, Nicki Minaj, Lizzo, Ice Spice and Charli XCX.
“Life in Barbie Land is about being perfect in the perfect place. Unless you’re having an existential crisis. Or you’re Ken. The film is directed by Greta Gerwigwho also wrote the screenplay with Noah Baumbach. They star in the main roles Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Issa Rae, Rhea Perlman and Will Ferrell“- we read in the press announcement of the film.
