Creator of “succession”, Jesse Armstronghe was not sure of the topic of his next production. He wondered for a long time whether his new project and also a film directorial debut should present a story about privileged people.
“I tried to do other things. Something that would not go on the spruce of the hero people” – said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter before the premiere of “Mountainhead” in New York.
Eventually he changed his mind, and the reason for this decision was his research on billionaires from the technology industry. They became the main inspiration for the film:
“I conducted a lot of research in this field for the needs of the article I wrote, and I couldn’t stop thinking about the way these guys said in public. It got into my head, it was like an intrusive song that you still hear and I wanted to save some of those ideas that became the seed of the film,” he said.

This is how the story of the new film “Mountainhead” is outlined, a perverse tale of power, money and a lack of responsibility in a world that is just wobble. “Humanity is in their hands” – is the slogan of Armstrong’s film. Although this has not been officially confirmed, the heroes are inspired by people such as Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg and Marc Andreesen.
