Messi the dog at the Oscars. The costume designer reveals the backstage of the preparations

“(Messi) is the sweetest dog in the world, and working with him is pure fun,” Cahill recalled in an interview with Indiewire. “The producers told me, ‘It’s a border collie. Make a bow tie for him,’ and I said, ‘Uh… What about the dimensions? It’s not a standard size.'”

She immediately added that the decoration was supposed to look traditional, so everything went very quickly. “His owner comes from France, so all commands were given in this beautiful language. She watched over him and gave him treats while I measured everything.” The coach also apologized for Messi’s lethargy. All because of the jet lag that the dog star suffered “Anatomy of a Fall”.

However, Messi was not present at the Oscars. All shots with him were shot in advance and edited so that viewers had the impression of his participation in the ceremony.

For Cahill, this wasn’t the only job during the gala. She was responsible for covering the sensitive points of John Cena’s body, who entered the stage “naked” to present the Oscar for costumes. Last year, she was responsible for preparing a donkey that appeared for a moment during the ceremony, referring to the film “Ghosts of Inisherin”.
