Luc Besson will make a new Dracula. Christoph Waltz in the cast

According to the announcement, the production will be an adaptation of Bram Stoker’s book Besson will focus a little more on the life of Prince Vlad Dracula before he became a vampire. First of all, the theme of the cruel ruler’s love for his wife Elisabeta will be developed.

People who have read Besson’s script reveal that there are many epic scenes in the script.

The French director intends to start shooting this year. The budget is supposed to be very high for a European production, but at the same time much smaller than that “Valerian and the Cities of a Thousand Planets”which cost approximately $200 million.

Two actors have already been cast in the film. Caleb Landry Jones, winner of the Cannes award for “Nitrama”, will play Dracula. The actor played the main role in “DogMan”, Besson’s last film. The cast also included Christoph Waltz, a two-time Oscar winner. However, it is not known what role he would play.

Over the years, “Dracula” has been adapted to the big screen many times. The title vampire was played by, among others, Bela Lugosi, Christopher Lee, Gary Oldman, and most recently Nicolas Cage.
