After the dramatic accident in 2023, Jeremy Renner returns in the fourth season of “The Mayor of Kingstown”, a series with which he has been associated since 2021. The new version of the production appeared on SkyShowtime on October 30 and will consist of as many as 10 episodes. We won’t see the final one until December.
The American actor admits that he is returning to the role of Mike’and McLusky’ego was difficult for him at first. After the events of two years ago, it was difficult for him to return to full professional fitness. In one of the interviews, he confessed that his experiences made him doubt his “ability to create fiction.”
“In the third season I was strong ‘afflicted’. It was actually a year after the incident. Now I’m much stronger, happier, much more aware and attentive,” he said in an interview with the New York Post. “This season has been much more enjoyable.”
The world froze when in January 2023, the media circulated photos of Jeremy’Runner’s ego lying in a hospital bed. The actor was clearly injured. He reported that he and his nephew tried to tow the off-road vehicle with a snow plow. At one point, he stepped out of the vehicle to make sure his 27-year-old relative was out of danger. He then lost control, fell out of the cab and was run over. As a result of the accident, he suffered extensive injuries: he broke over 30 bones. In fact, he miraculously survived, and the recovery process took many months. Dramatic events took place on January 1, 2023.
“The list of people to whom I am grateful is very long… Thanks to the love and prayers that came to me from you from all over the world (and I needed each of them), the family that never left my side, some higher power, happiness and many miracles… I am standing on my feet again,” the star later thanked on his Instagram.
The role in “The Mayor of Kingstown” is not Renner’s only high-profile role. For years, the American actor was associated with Marvel Studios, where he played one of the Avengers. He played Clint Burton, known as Hawkeye’and.
His character even got his own series in 2021, which was considered one of the best in the universe. Fans eagerly waited for its sequel, which was never made. Part of the reason was, of course, the star’s accident, but the lack of a sequel was also the result of poor negotiations. Jeremy Renner admitted that Marvel offered him exactly the same remuneration for the second season of the series, in which he was to appear on screen much more often. This was not adequate remuneration for him.
The actor himself does not rule out returning to a high-profile role in the MCU. His recent statement suggested that he won’t appear in the upcoming star-studded “Avengers: Doomsday” – perhaps Marvel has again offered an inappropriate amount. Renner, however, believes that one day he will wear a superhero costume again.
