Wiktor Fejkiel, Interia Music: on the upcoming new album “At the end of summer”, this nostalgia, noticeable in previous publications, will continue to dominate?
Jan Marczewski: – I think it will not be as leading as in previous projects. Here I wanted to do something a little different, with a different subject. I do not want to cut off old things with a thick line, because I still feel them and they are quite close to me, so this nostalgia will certainly stay to some extent.
How was this album created?
– The work on it began right after the previous “moments”. The first two songs were created then, which began to gain much more vivid sounds. I also had a question from my musical team if I would like to try something more energetic – I said clearly. As a result, songs with such a holiday and summer overtones turned out to be a lot, which I liked very much. We were inspired by summer bangers a lot when working on “At the end of summer”, which we all listen to and which remind us of summer – it was such a fairly bright musical key for us. However, when it comes to the lyrical layer, my private experiences and vacation thoughts have set the direction that I decided to follow.
Hugo Tarres appeared on one of the last singles – “Chamy”. What is the genesis of this cooperation?
– I must admit that this is one of those cooperation that Hugo initiated. I have known him for a long time, so this thing has been on my mind for a long time. The whole song was written in the basement at Hugson, which houses a very atmospheric small studio. The three of them, along with his homie, wrote a demówka under “Chamy”, which quickly later turned into a full -fledged song.
Will it be the only cooperation that will be on this album?
– No, but I would like it to remain a surprise for now. However, I can reveal that there will be a nice surprise for older listeners.
Did you have a key you followed during the selection of singles?
– I wanted to give away the diversity that this project would mark well. There will be a few more things in completely different styles. I am glad that we managed to do so that every single is different – so that it is not clear what will happen on this album.
Where do you see inspiration in your sounds, which they draw in a rather interesting way, as you say, from so many different species?
– I’m just listening to a lot of music. I like a lot of species too. In addition, I surround myself with people who flood me with various styles: Japanese jazz, metal, electronics, ambient – I take it from this fragmen, which they later use me as inspiration, to individual numbers. When I came to the manufacturer, we just carved on the basis of some specific inspiration.
“At the end of summer” is your second album this year – what are the biggest differences between these two publications?
– First of all, the sound that I have already mentioned at the beginning. In addition, I would say that I worked an extraordinary for a long time on this latest album – it is strange because I was able to get rid of such fear and excessive self -criticism with texts. I felt much more freedom creating songs for “At the end of summer”.
Would you call this evolution or temporary stepping stone?
“I don’t know if I would go until I call it” evolution “.” It seems to me that after all, it results from the desire to try something that has been sitting in me for a long time, but which I lacked space for. Now I found it and I want to show the whole music market, but also what I can do.

Recently, you had the pleasure to play at the Great Seprsege – how do you mention that performance?
– Sensational – I think this is one of my more successful concerts. I also had the opportunity to confront the Live Band for the first time. This is associated with this really funny story, because the guys from my managers suggested that it would be good to play a great with a band, which I say cool, but we don’t have a band (laughs). After 10 minutes of silence, we came up with the idea that Wojtek (manufacturer) would lead to playing the guitar, and Michał (also the producer) on drums. And we played in such a three -like composition and it was really amazing.
Did you have the opportunity to play material from the upcoming album?
– We played a few pieces – mainly they were singles. I did not want to play pre -release pieces, a few weeks before the planned concert tour, on which it will be fully “at the end of summer”.
After all, do you perceive him as a preparation for the upcoming concert tour?
– Due to how little time the Greate performance shares with the start of my route, we also decided to enter it on our poster. However, we played much more older material there than on the route, on which we are already going. In addition, we will not play on the band on the route – something can change yet, but we are not planning it at the moment. We want to take the opportunity that we can play with DJ and with Wojtek to play great on stage.
You are dominated by fear or excitement at the thought of the route?
– only excitement. I remember perfectly “moments of the Tour” and the people who were with me at the time – I hope that they will also appear on “At the end of summer Tour”, because this atmosphere that prevailed recently was amazing. I think that the concert tour is the coolest thing that the artist can do. Confronting people who listen and like your muse is something magical.
