“Ballad about Januszku” from 1988 is a series about the fate of Gieni Smoliva (Lidia Fiedosiejewa-Szukszyna),, a forty -year -old widow who was struggling with raising an irresponsible son (Jarosław Góral). Ba! A son who got into the wrong company and at every step it turned out that he had chosen a criminal path. He felt unpunished and used his beloved mother. This role brought the highlander to fame and a wave of criticism, with which he could not face. In the following years he appeared in the largest Polish productions, but none gave him such recognition as the title Januszek.
Jarosław Góral was born on May 31 in 1964 in Lubin. He studied at the Faculty of Acting in Wrocław of the State Higher Theater School Ludwik Solski in Krakow, who graduated in 1988. He debuted in the play “Man like a man” at the theater in Jelenia Góra, with which he was also associated in the following years.
The television career began with “Ballad about Janusz”, however The series did not bring him popularity – on the contrary, he faced great criticism. After all, he did not stop television performances. Appeared, among others in “For Good and Bad”, “First Love” or “almost Agata”.
Why did one role practically cross out his acting career? “Ballad about Janusz” met with really great emotions of viewers. On the one hand, it was a great series that was surprisingly brutal on the other. Even worse, the viewers began to feel a unique bond with this hero, which in time turned out to be tragic.
“Many people did not distinguish between life and serial fiction. I remember the situation when I was waiting for the bus after trying in the theater. An old lady was looking persistently at the stop. At one point a grimace appeared on her face. She began to approach every person and whispered in his ear. Suddenly she raised a large stone from the ground and began to go towards me. I ran away ” – said the actor in an interview with Onet. The next situation was more fun, although it was not without tragic moments.
“In the evening the militia stopped me. One of the officers threw me on the mask sharply and said:” I remember him! We have a picture of his police station. “ I turned and said that you probably watched too many movies and then I got from the leaf. The second policeman suddenly replied to his friend: “Old, you don’t meet a guest? He is an actor who played Januszka.” There was no end to the apology. I got a private blue taxi that took me home “ the highlander recalled.
These repetitive situations raised the actor before an important question: is he Janusz or Jarosław?
“Working in this series cost me a lot. At some point I was even wondering if I was Januszek or Jarosław Góral,” he said.
He decided to move abroad. As it turned out after returning, he earned much more than in Poland. And no, he did not work as an actor – at that time he built roads, arranged cobblestones, and even made extra money in a slaughterhouse. When he returned to Poland, rAz and his wife Jolanta founded the guest house “Ugórala”. His chosen one is a physical education teacher and skiing trainer. Together they lived to see the birth of their daughter.
However, the new life did not make the actor forgot about his acting roots. He is still working on the theater in Jelenia Góra. What is acting for him? In an interview with Onet, he explained:
“You have to be, not play. To be an actor means nothing but being a human. ”
