There has been talk for some time about resuming the DC Universe with popular characters in the series “Paradise Lost” – the roles of Superman and Supergirl have already been cast, but the question remains who will become the new Wonder Woman. Gal Gadot said goodbye to the role some time ago, so the question arose who could replace her.
It has been known for some time that the Warner Bros. studio is not planning a third installment of Wonder Woman’s adventures. In connection with the new production, there were rumors related to the character of the Amazon, specifically that she would be played by Elizabeth Debicki.
An actress of Australian descent who has partly Polish roots and this wouldn’t be the first comic book movie she would take part in, as we’ve already seen her as Ayesha in “Guardians of the Galaxy” in the 2nd and 3rd parts.
However, James Gunn was surprised by the idea when asked directly about it via Threads.
“This comes from a site that just makes stuff up (I love working with Elizabeth, but it never even occurred to me),” the director replied.
It’s hard to imagine any version of the DC Universe without the character of Wonder Woman. Therefore, we can be sure that sooner or later we will see this character on the screens. “Paradise Lost” is to be a television prequel to Diana’s story, taking place before her birth.
The character of Circe (Anya Chalotra), one of the most famous adversaries of Wonder Woman in DC history, is to appear in the animation “Creature Commandos”. These seem like real clear indications that Diana will return in one form or another.
