At the end of May, the tour planned until October 2026 began with a concert in Budapest “Run For Your Lives”within which Iron Maiden celebrates its 50th anniversary. The living legend of heavy metal was founded in late 1975 by bassist, leader and main composer, Steve Harris.
After numerous reshuffles at the beginning of his activity, the deceased appeared at his side in 2024. Paul Di’Anno (vocals), died in 2013 Clive Burr (drums), Dennis Stratton (guitar) i DaveMurray (guitar). It was this lineup that was responsible for recording their debut album, simply titled “Iron Maiden” (1980). The material included such timeless recordings as, among others: “Running Free”, “Remember Tomorrow” and “Iron Maiden”.
From this team, Dave Murray remained at Harris’s side, and they are currently accompanied by him Bruce Dickinson (vocal), Adrian Smith (guitar), Jannick Gers (guitar) i Nick McBrain (drums). The latter retired from concerts in December 2024 after 42 years of playing – the drummer made his debut with a performance in Budapest in Iron Maiden Simon Dawsonwho has been playing in the band since 2012 British Lion. Let us add that it is a hard rock project headed by him Steve Harris.
Iron Maiden without secrets. What do we know about the book “Iron Maiden. Infinite Dreams. The official illustrated history”?
As part of the tour “Run For Your Lives” we could also see the legend of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal again in Poland – on August 2, she played at the PGE National Stadium in Warsaw at the end of the European part of the tour. Let us add that in our country the group has had loyal fans since the 1980s. Then the British decided to go abroad “the iron curtain”to start the tour in the depths of the Polish People’s Republic “World Slavery Tour” promoting the album “Powerslave” (1984) with concerts in Warsaw, Łódź, Poznań, Wrocław and Zabrze. The famous performances were included in the film “Behind the Iron Curtain” (1984), and 40 years later a collector’s box was published in Poland (with the book and numerous reprints) “Iron Maiden Iron Curtain. Poland 1984”.
The team also delved deep into their archives to prepare the book “Iron Maiden. Infinite Dreams. The official illustrated history”which is now available for sale thanks to SQN Publishing House. The foreword was written by Steve Harris, and the afterword was prepared by Bruce Dickinson.
“There is no other metal band in the world that has a similar achievement. For five decades, Maideni have been continuously maintaining the rock and metal world, devoting themselves completely to music and fans. This book is a journey through the band’s history, proof of the uncompromising vision, fearless creativity and undying ambition that made the English band a true phenomenon connecting generations of listeners around the world.” – we read in the announcement.
Iron Maiden celebrates its 50th anniversary
“Infinite Dreams” presents a wealth of graphic materials from Iron Maiden’s impressive history, from album and single covers, posters and T-shirts, through numerous behind-the-scenes photographs of major concerts. In addition, the team used previously unpublished photos from private and official archives.
The whole thing was created with the full personal involvement of the band members, their collaborators and artists.

“I was pleasantly surprised by some of the things I was able to dig up for this book. I knew I had kept a lot of things from the early days of the band that had stood the test of time. The photos brought them back to life. I hope fans enjoy seeing all of these things presented in this form. It’s the right time to take everyone on a journey celebrating our 50th anniversary” – said Steve Harris.
Let us add that Bruce Dickinson will perform at Spodek in Katowice on January 30, 2027 as a special guest of the concert The Legend Of Rock Symphonic. In addition, they will also perform on stage alongside the symphony orchestra Grzegorz Kupczyk (former vocalist Turbo), Grzegorz “Ornette” Stępień (leader of own project Ornettebassist Closed Ward, Adult Children’s Orchestra and Grzegorz Kupczyk’s solo band), Thomas “Oley” Olejnik (vocalist of the group Proletariat and Aliens), Andrzej “Cobra” Kraiński (leader Kobranocki) i Marek Pajakguitarist Vader and the project Polish Metal Alliance.
