“Heweliusz” is the largest and most complex series production in Poland in recent years. The creators of the series will spend a total of 106 shooting days on the set, and the photos are taken, among others, on a ferry in the port of Świnoujście and on the Baltic Sea, often in difficult winter conditions. The water stunt scenes will be filmed in Brussels, in a state-of-the-art film hall with a swimming pool specially prepared for such photos. The series will feature over 130 disaster scenes. We will see over 120 characters and as many as 3,000 extras on the screen. The team working on the series consists of over 140 people.
“‘Heweliusz’ is not only a series about a disaster, but also about mourning, loss and the fight against a dysfunctional state for the good name and dignity of those who died. We hope that in addition to the scale and scope of the production, viewers will be delighted and moved by the enormous dramatic potential and emotional of this story. We are also aware of the responsibility that rests on us, which is why our task is, above all, to bring justice to all those affected by this tragedy,” says the director Jan Holoubek.
