The drummer is currently undergoing oncological treatment due to a malignant tumor of the nasal septum and paranasal sinuses. As a result of the disease and invasive treatment (chemotherapy and radiotherapy), he lost almost 50 kg.
“He is severely weakened, has a broken nasal septum, has loss of the labyrinth, sense of smell, taste, salivation, and has difficulty moving. Complications following radiotherapy treatments have resulted in the inability to eat traditional foods, and it is necessary to use nutritional preparations intended for people undergoing oncological treatment,” we read in the collection description.
Since the diagnosis of the disease (March 2024), the musician has not been able to practice his profession, and the only source of income are the benefits of his disabled wife.
Gerard Niemczyk was associated with bands such as: Atrocious Filth, Schismatic, Mordor, Death Sea, Gladiator, Holy Death, Symbolic Immortality. He also supported the group in the studio Lux Occulta.
Apart from the metal scene, he also recorded with pop stars, such as: Maciej Maleńczuk and Paweł Kukiz (joint album “Older Gentlemen”), Gienek Loska, Justyna Steczkowska, Kayah Whether Maria Sadowska.
