61st National Festival of Polish Song in Opole lasts from May 31 to June 2, 2024.
The second concert on the first day was a unique recital “Your heart is enough to live.” In this way Michał Bajor (listen!) celebrated 50 years since its debut in Opole. It was on this stage that a 17-year-old singer from Opole began his path to fame in 1974.
“I missed you and the stage very much. Hello Opole, my Opole, our Opole, good evening,” said Bajor, who was announced Andrzej Piaseczny and Kayah.
Over these five decades, he has created a distinctive style that continues to delight generations of fans to this day. He is called the best actor among singers and the best singer among actors.
He supported him on stage at the piano Włodzimierz Korczauthor of the music for the song “Warm me up”, with which Michał Bajor began his performance. He led the orchestra Zygmunt Kukla.
They also appeared as special guests Alicja Majewska (“My Greatest Love”) i Kayah (“And me”) and choir Gospel Family. “Years ago, Mr. Korcz first presented it to me, and I heard Michał Bajor in this song, so I gave it to him. He turned it into a big hit, a very important song in his repertoire,” Alicja Majewska said before the festival.
In addition to the songs mentioned above, we also heard such famous songs as: “I don't want anymore”, “I don't allow this love” and “Spanish”in which Michał Bajor presented flamenco atmosphere, performing in a green jacket.
The singer received a standing ovation from the president of Opole Arkadiusz Wiśniewski he picked up a special Karolinka. “Oh, I missed you, I missed you. I would like to dedicate this Karolinka to the memory of my parents,” said Michał Bajor, thanking, among others, Elżbieta Zapendowskawho taught him in high school.
