“Euforia”: Will the cult series be canceled? There is a statement on this matter

Cult “Euphoria” focuses on the story of Rue, a teenager struggling with drug addiction who, together with her high school friends, confronts numerous problems.

The first season of the production was released on HBO in 2019, the second – three years later. Although there was talk of creating another series even before its finale, work on it is still at a standstill. This was influenced by, among others, strikes of scriptwriters and actors, but also other projects of production stars. Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer and Sydney Sweeney have been in demand recently.

Recently, there were reports that the third season of “Euphoria” would be canceled. They were gaining so much popularity that HBO decided to include them.

“HBO and Sam Levinson remain committed to creating an exceptional third season of 'Euphoria'. In the meantime, we are allowing our cast to pursue other professional opportunities,” said an HBO spokesman, quoted by Variety.

When will we see him? Certainly not anytime soon. Last November, information appeared that the premiere of the third installment of “Euphoria” is scheduled for 2025. According to rumors, the events in it are to take place five years later than in the second series.

This is important because the stars of the series are currently much older than the typical high school student. Jacob Elordi recently said that soon the creators of “Euphoria” will have to digitally rejuvenate him on screen (he will be 27 in June). The 196 cm tall actor joked that his back would start hurting from bending in the school corridors. When asked about a potential time jump in the plot, he replied: “I assume we'll have to move forward, otherwise it'll look weird.” It is worth adding that his co-stars are also closer to 30 than to high school age.

A few days ago, Syndey Sweeney was asked about new episodes of the series. The 26-year-old actress jokingly said that she couldn't say too much. “To be honest, it would be as terrible as spoilering something from Marvel. I said one thing once and then it was everywhere,” she joked. However, Sweeney admitted that she is very excited about the upcoming season.
