Agnieszka Robótka-Michalska, known for her role Ewa Glinicka in a soap opera “In the maze”she was surrounded by culture and languages from childhood. Born in Warsaw, she spent several years in Brazil, where she learned Portuguese and French. Although she initially dreamed of archeology, her heart eventually won over acting. At the age of 17, she began studying at the Warsaw Theater Academy, which opened the door to the world of film and television.
Already in 1986, just after graduating from college, she made her debut in cult films “Substitutes”. However, the real breakthrough in her career was the offer of the main role in a newly created series “In the maze”.
At the age of 24, Agnieszka Robótka-Michalska played the role of Ewa Glinicka, a heroine who quickly won the sympathy of viewers. Ewa, a young pharmacist struggling with life’s dramas, was one of the key characters of the series. Popularity came quickly – the actress became recognizable throughout Poland.
However, success had its price. After 52 episodes, Agnieszka decided to leave the production, which shocked both the viewers and the creators of the series.
“I was tired and felt full. My character was too perfect, which became boring in the long run” – she confessed in one of the interviews.
The decision to leave the series was associated with major changes in the actress’s life. Agnieszka went abroad, where she lived away from the world of show business for 12 years. During this time, she started a family and focused on raising her children.
After returning to Poland, she tried to return to the screens, but most of the offers were limited to episodic roles. She last appeared in 2009 in a television show “Operation Tails”.
After ending her acting career, Agnieszka Robótka-Michalska decided to engage in social and political activities. For several years she was actively involved in the Committee for the Defense of Democracy, which brought her new challenges and satisfaction.
Privately, the actress has been happily married for years. She is the mother of two adult sons – Antoni and Jan – with whom she spends most of her free time.
Although she did not repeat the success of the 1980s, Agnieszka Robótka-Michalska was remembered by viewers as one of the most characteristic actresses of her era. Currently, she leads a quiet life away from the cameras, but her story still fascinates fans who remember her from the role of Ewa Glinicka – a heroine who will forever remain a symbol of the beginnings of Polish soap operas.
