Daria Zawiałow with the musician The Strokes. “I didn’t even dream about it”

What connects Daria Zawiałow, Harry Styles, Elton John and Miley Cyrus? Spotify invited all of them to its recording studio in Los Angeles as part of the Spotify Singles program. Daria Zawiałow, who is the second most played Polish artist on Spotify in 2023, had the opportunity to cooperate with a special guest – Albert Hammond Jr! The duo recorded a new version of her hit “Heartbreak is OK” (check) and cover “Ode to The Mets” by The Strokes.

The Spotify Singles program was created in 2016, and the songs recorded as part of it have so far accumulated over 5 billion plays on the platform. Spotify Singles allows artists to take a fresh approach to already released repertoire, and also guarantees the exchange of creative energy with other musicians – often with their own idols. Daria Zawiałow fulfilled her “American dream” thanks to Spotify by inviting Albert Hammond Jr., the guitarist of her favorite band of all time, about which she sings in “Złamaneheart jest OK”. At the same time, the singer is the second Polish woman to whom Spotify opened the doors of its recording studio in Los Angeles as part of Spotify Singles.

How was the song created? The singer herself provided some information from behind the scenes. “A few months ago, I received an invitation to the Spotify Singles project. In January, in Los Angeles, I visited the impressive Spotify recording studio to record my one song and… a cover there in a new arrangement. I thought that I wanted to do it with HIM. With my idol. With whom not only did I perform a song from his artistic output – my beloved ‘Ode to The Mets’, but he also recorded ‘Broken Heart is OK’. No one believed it would be possible. Even me I never dreamed about it,” says Daria Zawiałow.

With the premiere of Spotify Singles, “Broken Heart is OK” was announced as the official fourth single from the album “Czienka Pop”. The song was originally released as a promotional song, which was intended to warm up the atmosphere before the premiere of the singer’s now platinum fourth studio album.

You will be able to hear the song live this Friday – March 22, at the Fryderyk Festival gala – where Daria is nominated in six categories. In the meantime, Daria Zawiałow is on a concert tour in the largest halls in Poland, promoting “Girl Pop”.

“TRASA 92′” has already managed to fill the Ergo Arena and sell out the Centennial Hall, and the band still has the Atlas Arena in Łódź (April 13) and a second concert at Torwar (April 28).
