Coldplay and the new album “Moon Music” with attention to ecology. When is the premiere?

The song chosen as the first single “feelslikeimfallinginlove” (check!) will hit streaming services this Friday, June 21. Coldplay he premiered this number during a sold-out concert at the Puskás Stadium in Budapest.

The British emphasize their care for ecology almost at every step. As a result, the current tour generated 59% less CO2 emissions than their previous stadium tour. The band made every effort to release the new album physically “Moon Music” (premiere on October 4) was as ecological as possible.

The group has prepared the world’s first album in the 140g EcoRecord rPET LP format. Each piece contains material from 9 recycled PET plastic bottles recovered from post-consumer waste. This will prevent the production of over 25 metric tons of new plastic and provide an 85% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to the production process of traditional 140-gram vinyl.

Additionally, the musicians collaborated with longtime partners The Ocean Cleanup to create a new format: Notebook Edition EcoRecord rPET LP. The creation of rPET for this release used 70% of river plastic collected by The Ocean Cleanup from Rio Las Vacas, Guatemala, which prevented plastic from reaching the Gulf of Honduras and the Atlantic Ocean.

The “Moon Music” CD edition is also the world’s first EcoCD compact disc, made of 90% recycled polycarbonate, also obtained from post-consumer waste. This will provide at least a 78% reduction in CO2 emissions and avoid the production of over five metric tons of new plastic.

In order to reduce waste, the first edition of “Moon Music” (both EcoRecord rPET LP and EcoCD) will be strictly limited and produced to a higher specification than any future editions. All products from the first edition of EcoRecord rPET LP will be numbered.

Let us add that “Moon Music” is the successor to “Music Of The Spheres” from 2021, from which the hit came “My Universe” recorded with a Korean group BTS. The Grammy-nominated album has amassed over four billion streams.
