Tony McFarr began his stunt career in 2011 on the series “Bones”. In the following years he appeared in such high-profile productions as “The Hunger Games” and “Captain America: Civil War”. He later began working with Chris Pratt and became his stunt double in, among others, “Jurassic World” and in Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2”.
McFarr died at his home in Orlando, and for a long time, the details of the actor’s death were not known. TMZ obtained access to documents from the Orange County Medical Examiner in Florida.
The latest information indicates that the stuntman’s death was caused by heart problems caused by acute alcohol poisoning related to long-term drinking. The direct cause of death was a problem with the heart valves.
During the tests, it was also confirmed that the actor had 0.29 per mille of alcohol in his blood. The doctor responsible for the autopsy confirmed that the actor’s death was an accident.
Shortly after his co-star’s death, Chris Pratt posted a post commemorating his stunt double and saying goodbye to him in a moving way.
“I am devastated to hear of the loss of my friend and former stunt double. We made several films together. We played golf, drank whiskey, smoked cigars and spent countless hours on set. I will never forget his resilience,” he wrote on Instagram.
