Candidate for the new Bond: Will it be Cillian Murphy?

We could watch the last film about Her Majesty’s Special Agent in 2021. In the main role in “No time to die” Daniel Craig played the role, but after this production he said goodbye to the role. Since then, there have been speculations about who could replace him, and now it seems there could only be one choice.

Currently, foreign portals suggest that he will become Agent 007 Cillian Murphy, which became extremely loud after last year’s premiere of “Oppenheimer” directed by Christopher Nolan. Thanks to this performance, he was nominated for an Oscar and also received a Golden Globe and a BAFTA award. A few years earlier, we got to know him as Thomas Shelby, the ruthless leader of a gang from the streets of Birmingham in the TV series “Peaky Blinders”.

The Metro website cites a source who suggests that the Bond producer has been closely watching Cillian Murphy’s galloping career for some time. And his colleagues from the set of “Oppenheimer” have no doubt that he would cope with this role.

“He would be great in this role. Even though he is the nicest man I know, he has a certain kind of darkness needed to play Bond” – this is how Clay Bunker commented on this idea in an interview with “The Mirror”.
