Bonnie Wright starred in all eight Harry Potter films. She played Ginny Weasley, the titular character’s love interest and the sister of his best friend. Adaptations of the books about the young wizard were made between 2001 and 2011. The eight films have grossed a combined $7.7 billion worldwide.
Currently, the actress still fondly remembers the great adventure she had to take part in and can’t wait to sit in front of the screen with her son to see the first scenes from the film. “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone”.
In an interview with Us Weekly, she revealed that she would like her son to read novels written by JK Rowling.
“I hope he really likes it! I mean, I can’t force him to, but I’m definitely going to strongly encourage him to read the books,” she said during Sunday’s “Back to Hogwarts” event. “I hope I read it to him… but I’m definitely going to make sure we read the books before we watch the movies,” she emphasized.
Bonnie Wright also hopes that Potter’s adventures will spark a love of reading in her son, just as it did for millions of readers.
“I think it’s so special that so many new generations of fans will love it and find something in the story that speaks to them. I talk to a lot of parents or teachers when they read this book and they say, ‘Oh my God, we are so grateful to Harry Potter because he really inspired us to read more, to write more, to do everything.'”
Little Elio, Bonnie Wright’s son, still has plenty of time to warm up to the novel, as he only turned one on September 1. But he’s not the only one in Wright’s household who isn’t familiar with the magical world. It turns out that her husband, Andrew Lococo, whom she married in 2022, hasn’t seen the movies or read the books either.
The actress hopes they will be able to spend time together as a family learning about the adventures of the young wizard.
“He’s never read the books, so I hope he can be a part of that with our son. I’m sure he will,” Wright revealed.
