Apocalyptica plays Metallica again. Two concerts in Poland

Apocalyptica gained fame as an innovative cello quartet playing their own versions of the band’s songs Metallica (the album “Plays Metallica by Four Cellos” from 1996). Musicians from the prestigious Sibelius Academy in Helsinki paid a symphonic tribute to the greatest of the thrash Big Four. The album turned out to be a global phenomenon and went gold in Poland. Many years and hundreds of concerts had to pass for the story to come full circle.

Currently, the band consists of three cellists: Eicca ToppinenPaavo Lötjönen and Perttu Kivilaakso. After recording the new album “Plays Metallica Vol. 2”, the Finns broke up with the drummer Mikko Sirénwho had been playing with them since 2003 (two years later he became a full member of the group).

As part of the tour promoting the upcoming album (premiere on June 7), Apocalyptica will appear in Krakow (October 15, Studio) and Warsaw (October 16, Progresja).

Let us add that the music video for the first single “The Four Horsemen” has already been released online. He took part in the recording Robert Trujillobassist of Metallica since 2003.
