Since Amanda Seyfried became a mother, she receives many offers of mother roles. The 39-year-old actress, who is raising two children, was a guest at the Berlinale festival, which ended on Saturday. She came there with her latest film “Seven Veils”, directed by Atom Egoyan (“Oblivion”).
“Playing mothers is still something new in my career. I have been playing mothers since I gave birth. This is what Hollywood has to offer you. Such roles are more demanding. I didn’t experience it in the first years of my career,” Seyfried confessed.
“I feel that my character in “Seven Veils”, especially as a mother, is trying to figure out where she is in life. As a parent and as a person who is soon going to break up with her husband. Her private and professional life hangs in the balance, while she wants more from life and her career. She wants to be taken seriously as a director,” explains the actress, quoted by Variety.
In the film “Seven Veils”, Amanda Seyfried plays a theater director who returns to work after years of break to tackle the opera “Salome”. However, the trauma suppressed for years begins to affect her life.
