Comic-Con is the world’s largest an event for fans of comics, films, series and pop culture, which takes place every year in San Diego. It is a place where fans from all over the world can meet to celebrate their favorite works, participate in panels, meet-and-greets with creators, actors and take part in various events related to the entertainment industry. San Diego Comic-Con is also a place for film premieres, trailers and exclusive previews, which attract thousands of enthusiasts, journalists and industry professionals.
Disney and its 20th Century Studios division decided to inject some theatrics into their “Alien: Romulus” panel at this year’s Comic-Con. It started with red strobe lights, then a babbling man took the stage, ending his performance with a spectacular “chest split.” The event also featured video Q&As from surprise guests including Ridley Scott, the original “Alien” director, and Guillermo del Toro.
After the panel, participants received special gifts – rubber monsters known from the “Alien” series. All 6,500 people who filled the San Diego Convention Center hall received gifts, and many of them immediately took selfies, sharing photos on social media. The promotion was a complete success.
