Taylor-Johnson has been linked with the role for some time. According to the Daily Mail, he was the producers’ favorite to play Bond and he even took part in test shots. The newspapers report that the actor has not yet responded to the offer of employment.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Taylor-Johnson did not confirm these revelations, but he did not deny them either. “I can only talk about things I can show,” he said. “I don’t feel like anyone else has to plan my future. Whatever someone predicts for me, I can do it better.”
The actor has already distanced himself from speculations, but he also admitted that he feels honored by them. “It’s captivating and wonderful that people see me in this role. I treat it as a great compliment,” he said in an interview for “Numero”.
The employment proposal was not confirmed by representatives of Eon Productions, which has the rights to the James Bond character.
